First, did you mark your calendar? Take a moment to set a reminder to come on down to the Front Street Promenade between 11am and 3pm on Sunday.
You'll find gently used, vintage, and new clothing, shoes, bags, jewelry, baby items, kids’ toys, books, cookware, household items, handmade items, paintings, purses, crafts, furniture, textiles, services, lemonade, baked goods, & more!
VOLUNTEERS NEEDED: We need at least a dozen more folks to help us with setup and breakdown. Can you contribute a couple of hours to help out?
If you're interested, click here to volunteer.
*We're optimists, but we do have a rain date: Sunday September 21. Just in case.

Science in the Park
Saturday Sept 13 @ 11am-3pm, Corktown Common Park
The Ontario Science Centre is putting on a free science event in the park for kids of all ages! Come join us for a day of fun and learning at Corktown Common!
Explore the skies through a solar telescope, get creative with UV bead crafts, test your perception with optical illusions and more. Bring your friends and family and have a fun afternoon with interactive exhibits, hands-on activities, and engaging presentations.
This is a free community event, and you can drop in anytime between 11am-3pm on September 13th.
Clean Canary Together
Sunday 28 September @ 10am-12noon
Whoa where did the summer go? It's time again for our twice-yearly neighbourhood cleanup! Remember how pristine everything was right after last event? Let's do it again.
We meet outside Rock On Climbing (NW corner of Tannery and Front) at 10am. Provided with gloves, bags, and trash grabbers, you'll be assigned one of our lovely streets.
Optional: If you can't make it on the day, reach out to [email protected] and we will set you up a special shift on another day!
Making the Case for Modern Urbanism — That’s Us!
Just loving the love we're getting from The Bridge community newspaper, available free around the neighbourhood.
In case you missed it, here's the link to this month's article about our neighbourhood.
Please support them by reading the paper and supporting their (local) advertisers!
Biidaasige Park: Corktown Common's (new) big sister
If you haven't discovered Biidaasige Park, get going right now while the season is still mild (although it will be a great place to go year-round). Located just a 30-minute walk away it's the first major project to open to the public in the Port Lands.
The park covers over 40 hectares, more than 5 times bigger than its now-little sister Corktown Common. The park has a great playground as well as picnic areas, ziplines, recreational trails, cycling paths, fishing spots, and water access for non-motorized boats. It also has two dog off-leash areas and extensive planting with thousands of trees, shrubs, and herbaceous plants.
Go. Now.
Do The Right Thing
When graffiti appeared on the west wall of the Cleaning Room building of the Foundry property, we officially requested Aspen Ridge to clean up the graffiti as well as the weeds around the property.
They did so (mostly). The weeds on the north side of the property have been removed as well as the tattered old Indigo Park sign, and the graffiti cleaned off the brick walls of the smaller building on the northwest corner of Rolling Mills and Old Foundry Road.
There are still a lot of weeds on the south side, but they claim that's City property, and the City claims it's their property... so we will clear it up ourselves on September 28 (see story above).
