What We Do
We help people work together to make the neighbourhood better. Example: we helped organize volunteers to tidy up our streets during the city-wide Clean Toronto weekend in April 2024.
We promote measures to enhance the quality of life of all who live and work here. Example: in partnership with the Distillery District (Gooderham & Worts Neighbourhood Association) we are advocating for speedy construction of a school at Mill & Bayview, as well as participating in an innovative Aging-in-Place initiative.
We advocate for community interests in public and private sector projects that affect the neighbourhood. Example: we meet regularly with the City and with developers to promote community priorities in the remaining large development projects in the area.
We help our neighbours share information and become more engaged in community life. Example: Our Canary District Neighbourhood Association Facebook Group has grown more than 1,000 members in a few months; our Instagram account @canary_to now has 200+ followers.
