Port Lands Walking Tour

This event has already taken place.

BACK BY POPULAR DEMAND!

Curious about The Port Lands? You should be! It’s in the process of transforming into a new neighbourhood adjacent to ours, featuring outstanding amenities that we will all get to enjoy. But to get there, the area is undergoing some extreme engineering, performed while preserving aspects of a rich Toronto past.

Celebrate the spring's arrival with a 2 hour walk through the heart of the Port Lands, exploring and learning about these extraordinary layers of history and future dreams.

Meet at the Dark Horse Espresso Bar at 416 Front Street East. From here we will head south on Cherry Street, with several stops along the way and a pit stop to warm up at Keating Channel Pub. Then we head east on Commissioners, again with several interesting stops, and return the way we came.

Some of the things we will look at and learn about:

  • Port Lands Water Treatment Plant
  • Port of Toronto
  • Keating Channel
  • Park land and a new river, already in development
  • Cherry Street, Shipping Channel, and Commissioners Street bridges
  • Heritage structures that will remain, including the Atlas Crane and the Firehouse
  • Pinewood Studios
  • Commissioners Street Transfer Station

Led by self-described flaneur and city-fanatic Robert Dane Oliver (Instagram @beyogluguy). Numbers are limited, so please RSVP to secure your spot.
